3.1 POS variants

Once our POS app is launched on the device of choice, it is possible to select the industry during the setup process. But which checkout variants are offered for the different types of businesses?

Service, Craft and Retail businesses

Group POS

The Group POS variant offers a familiar experience similar to a traditional cash register. Products are organized into intuitive groups, allowing for quick and efficient item registration.

  • In environments like bakeries, simply tap the relevant product group—for example, “Pastries”—then choose the specific variety from the available options.

  • The main screen provides a clear overview of all items added to the transaction.

  • Quantities and prices can be entered quickly and accurately using the built-in numeric keypad.

This setup streamlines the checkout process and is ideal for fast-paced, customer-facing scenarios.

Retail POS

The Retail POS mode is designed for environments where speed and efficiency are critical. This interface focuses on barcode scanning as the primary method for registering items.

  • Ideal for the retail sector, this mode allows products to be scanned rapidly at checkout.

  • A convenient shortcut menu provides direct access to all product categories.

  • Items can also be selected manually, making it easy to process even non-barcoded products.

  • The interface ensures swift accounting and minimizes waiting times during high-traffic periods.

This POS variant helps streamline operations, especially in busy retail settings such as supermarkets, convenience stores, and department stores.

Service POS

The Service POS mode is tailored for businesses that prioritize direct product selection, such as florists or service-based shops.

  • Each item, like individual flowers or arrangements, can be selected directly from the on-screen display.

  • There’s no need to scan barcodes or navigate through nested menus—just tap and register.

  • The interface provides instant access to:

    • A numeric keypad for entering quantities and custom prices

    • All available items for quick selection

    • Discount functions for applying promotions

    • Cash management tools for handling payments and change

This streamlined approach makes Service POS ideal for personalized, customer-focused sales environments.

Self checkout POS

The Self-Checkout POS (SCO POS) system is designed to give customers full control over the checkout process - from scanning to bagging to payment - without cashier assistance.

  • This setup significantly improves checkout speed, shortens lines, and reduces staffing needs.

  • Customers can scan items, review their cart, and pay using integrated card or mobile payment options.

  • SCO POS is commonly found in:

    • Supermarkets

    • Convenience stores

    • Large retail chains

  • It streamlines transactions, supports contactless operations, and boosts overall operational efficiency.

Ideal for businesses aiming to enhance customer experience while optimizing labor resources.

Hospitality POS types

Hospitality POS without floor plan

When configuring the POS system for a hospitality business that does not require a floor or table plan, two template options will be available for selection: 'Service POS' and 'Quick Service Restaurant POS'.

  • Service POS

The Service POS template for hospitality businesses that operate without floor or table plans mirrors the functionality of the retail Service POS.

  • Designed for cafes, food trucks, takeaway counters, and other fast-paced venues.

  • Products are entered directly on-screen, without scanning or navigating through category menus.

  • The interface provides immediate access to:

    • A numeric keypad for custom amounts and quantities

    • A full item list for fast selection

    • Discount options to apply promotions or special pricing

    • Cash management tools for handling payments efficiently

This setup simplifies order handling and enables quick customer interactions in dynamic service environments.

  • Quick service POS

The Quick Service POS system is similar to the standard Service POS, but optimized for handling large volumes of orders at speed.

  • Orders are organized and tracked based on their current status (e.g. pending, in progress, completed).

  • The interface provides a clear visual overview of all active orders, allowing staff to manage and fulfill them efficiently.

This mode is ideal for fast-paced hospitality environments where quick turnaround and high throughput are key.

Hospitality POS with room plan

The Hospitality POS with Room and Table Plan is designed specifically for the catering and restaurant industry, offering advanced table-side order tracking and management.

  • This is the only POS variant that supports pairing orders with a visual room and table layout, ensuring organized service across multiple seating areas.

  • Staff can assign customer orders directly to their respective tables, which are marked as occupied until all guests have completed payment.

  • Supports split payments and table-based billing, making it easy to track individual orders within a group.

  • Also includes a Takeaway function for customers who prefer to order and take their food or drinks to go.

Ideal for full-service restaurants, hotel dining, banquet halls, and any venue requiring detailed floor and guest management.
