The German fiscalisation is based on a technical security device (TSE) that all businesses must install in their electronic cash register. If the TSE integration is not implemented, the cash register is considered non-compliant and the business has to pay severe penalties.
TSE obtains the unaltered and tamper-proof storage of business transactions, working by applying a digital signature to each transaction executed on the cash register.
