7.4.8 Time controlled cash register function

These checkout functions are executed automatically after a defined time. These functions are useful if, for example, a checkout is not always performed manually after the store closes, which could be 10 pm. The automatically generated reports are then stored in the system and can be retrieved at any time.

7.4.8.1 Automatic cash closure

The closing of the cash register must be done after each day that the cash register is used. This function can be used to specify that the closing is always performed, for example, at 10 p.m. after closing time. This way the closing does not have to be done manually.

ATTENTION: In the structure diagram, the top level (system) is automatically selected, thus the Automatic cash closure applies to all elements of the structure.

  1. Open the menu → System settings.

  2. Select Automatic cash register closure under the Timed cash register function menu.

  3. Check the box if you want the cash registers to close automatically.

  4. Define the time for the automatic closing of the cash registers.

The time is given in the format HH:MM (hours and minutes). H stands for Hour, which means hours. M also comes from English and stands for Minutes, which translates as minutes.

5. Click Save.

7.4.8.2 Assign automatic cash closure structure chart

Almost all settings in RETAIL7 can be assigned to the system via a tree structure. This structure can be defined according to specific wishes. The My Organization menu can be used for this purpose.

  1. Open the menu → System settings.

  2. Select Automatic cash register closure under the Timed cash register function menu.

  3. Open the structure diagram.

All created organizational units can be seen here. These can be configured under Menu → My Organization. Note that the setting applies to the level and its sublevels.

4. Select the level to which the automatic cash closure is to be assigned.

All sublevels are automatically selected and therefore the automatic checkout is also assigned here. Here, for example, a configuration can be assigned to store 1, but it should not apply to store 2.

5. Check the box if an automatic cash closure is to be performed at the cash registers.

6. Define the time for the automatic cash closure.

The time is given in the format HH:MM (hours and minutes). H stands for Hour, which means hours. M also comes from English and stands for Minutes, which translates as minutes.

7. Click Save.
