In retail7 system, terminals can be connected both via ZVT (this abbreviation stands for ZahlungsVerkehrsTerminal) and via Adyen Socket Communication. In the catering trade, the terminal is not technically connected in most cases, but only used "manually", which means, that the amount to be paid is entered directly into the terminal by the cashier or waiter.
The term EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)is often used in descriptions, it stands for an electronic payment terminal that can process debit cards and credit cards, thus making cashless payment transactions possible. It is therefore a more general term.
